ATT Uverse Coupon Code January 2014

AT&T U-Verse Coupon COdeAs one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world, AT&T has millions of subscribers that sign up to their phone services, cell phone services, internet services and digital television broadcasting services.  In recent years AT&T along with other telecommunications companies have abandoned the traditional offerings of individualized plans including landline telephone service, digital telephone and broadband internet.  Instead, they have created bundles that includes all three of these services for a heavily discounted price.  This is an effort by the companies to entice consumers to purchase the bundled plan even if they don’t need all three services.  This earns the company more profits and allows them to provide more efficient customer service and support.

AT&T U-Verse Coupon Codes and Deals

Uverse Basics

AT&T’s model for bundling their services is known as Uverse.  UVerse combines the three popular services offered by AT&T – telephone service, television service and internet service into one bundle that costs less than all three services when priced individually.  The service was introduced in 2008 as a response to other telecommunications companies such as Sprint and Verizon offering their own type of bundling plans.  Uverse relies on highly advanced fiber optic lines that allow for high speed internet, phone and television to be streamed across the country in record-fast times.

Uverse is now used by more than 4 million people around the country with the number of subscribers growing daily.  Uverse is available in over 22 states nationwide and it is expected to be offered all around the country in the coming years.  The success of UVerse and any type of bundling plan depends on a company’s fiber optic technology radius.  A company must have fiber optics installed all throughout the country to facilitate the delivery of high speed internet, phone and television access in a quick and efficient manner.

UVerse Merchants

While UVerse was created and is ran by AT&T, the telecommunications giant has designated additional merchants who are authorized to resell the service and attract new customers to the service.  Finding a UVerse merchant is easy when you use the power of the internet.  A simple search into Google will turn up hundreds of results for merchants that carry the UVerse bundle in your area.  Most major UVerse merchants offer some type of discount or coupon along with their service to entice potential customers to purchase the bundle from them, versus purchasing from a competing merchant.

How to Find UVerse Merchant

Locating a merchant or reseller of the popular UVerse bundle service is not difficult if you know what you’re doing.  A great way to start is to call the local AT&T retail stores in your area.  Most of these stores should carry the UVerse bundle and be an authorized reseller or distributor.  If AT&T hasn’t laid the proper groundwork such as fiber optic lines in your state, then UVerse probably isn’t available.  However, AT&T is constantly laying new lines to new and remote areas, opening up the bundling option to more customers around the country.

Another way to find a good Uverse merchant is to ask your friends and family or check our FAQ.  If you know somebody who is currently an AT&T customer and is using the UVerse features ask them what merchant they used for obtaining the bundle. Also be sure to ask what price they are charged, what services they receive and what the terms and conditions of their contract are.  Another option is to use the power of social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter to ask your friends and relatives about UVerse options.

How to use UVerse Merchant Coupons

One of the cool aspects related to the UVerse service and the merchants that resell the service are the numerous coupon codes and promotional codes available.  These codes are available on a variety of third party websites and they can be used towards obtaining discounts and other benefits towards your UVerse service.  Use the tips below for the proper procedures for finding and using your UVerse coupon codes:

      • When searching for UVerse coupon codes it’s important to obtain them only from authorized resellers that have been granted permission by AT&T to resell them.  There are numerous websites online setup to dupe people out of their money by selling fake, expired or otherwise invalid UVerse coupons.  Keep an eye out for these websites and always report them to AT&T when they are found.
      • Attempt to search for coupons that offer some type of discount on your UVerse service.  Some coupons are only good when you start a new UVerse account or get a new bundled service, while others can be used even after your account has been started.

It is important to ensure the codes and promotional offers you receive are valid and haven’t expired.  Lately there have been quite a few fraudulent codes floating around, and it’s important to avoid these so you can save your money.  Remember that AT&T also features official UVerse coupon codes on their official website.  These codes are your safest option as they will generally be up-to date and useful.

UVerse Coupon Perks

You can obtain numerous perks from using your UVerse coupon codes.  The merchant websites that offer UVerse codes are reimbursed via affiliate or commission sales from AT&T themselves, which is why they offer the codes as an incentive to sign up for the service.  There are four possible perks available from these coupons:

      1. Free installation of UVerse service in your home or business, including making sure each feature is working properly and as advertised.
      2. Free upgrade service from a lower tier service to a higher tier service for the first month.
      3. You can opt to receive cash-back incentives for triple play service.
      4. Receive a FREE HD DVR recorder.

Using UVerse coupon codes is a great way to save money on your favorite entertainment including digital telephone, digital television and high-speed broadband internet.  AT&T has bundled all three of these services into one easy to use package.  Purchasing the bundle is cheaper than purchasing each service individually.

All Aboard the Broadband Wagon

It’s nearly impossible to imagine a world, sans “wide web.” In recent years, broadband penetration in the U.S. accounts for 92% of all U.S. households who subscribe to a high-speed (aka. “broadband”) internet service.

There are over 80.3 million broadband subscribers in the U.S. Surprisingly, 76% of US households with broadband don’t know the speed of their Internet connection.

63% of broadband subscribers would rate their Internet connection as “high” (somewhere between an 8 and 10). Contrastingly, 6% of broadband subscribers rate their  internet speed as “poor” (somewhere between a 1 and 3).

In 2012, 2% of U.S. households said broadband is not available in their area, in contrast to 6% of U.S.  households said broadband is not available in their area in 2008.

According to  ICT Research, the majority of countries reached the Broadband Commission 2012 target of achieving “basic, fixed-broadband services [offered] at below 5% of monthly GNI p.c.”

As of 2013, fixed-broadband uptake has grown  to 700 million in fixed-broadband subscriptions;  offering a global penetration rate of 9.8%.

What Is Verizon FiOS

The Verizon FiOS system uses fiber-optic communications and is offered in areas of the United States. It was one of the very first communication companies to offer fiber optics for home use. Up until that point most of the competitors reserved the fiber optic technology for its business-based customer, rather than home use.

There are some areas that are unable to access Verizon due to franchise agreements despite the company’s expansion back in 2010.

In the FiOS system all the information/data passes over three wavelengths in an infrared spectrum. It doesn’t matter if you’re talking on the phone, surfing the internet, or watching TV, the data all passes through the same channel.

The way it works is that the customer will have a single-mode optical fiber that reaches out from an optical line terminal found at a central FiOS office. These lines span out to the neighbourhoods and out to individual homes.

Why Choose Verizon FiOS?

So what exactly is so special about this system? Why would you want to sign up for it? Customers will experience speed and quality like they’ve never known thanks to the use of fiber optics.

If you enjoy watching TV why not experience it the way it should be? People spend a lot of money on high quality HD televisions but if your cable provider can’t give you HD picture quality then you’re really no better off. With FiOS you’re likely to notice a dramatic difference in the picture which once you experience you won’t be able to go back.

Most people spend a good couple of hours a day surfing the internet and there is nothing more annoying that lag time slow page loads. With FiOS it’s all about speed. The system is meant to provide not only the speed but reliability so you won’t have to worry about Internet disruptions. Upload and download speeds are fabulous and you’ll be able to fly from page to page.

If streaming TV is something you use on a regular basis this is the Internet option that is made for you. In fact, it’s faster than cable.

The FiOS system also includes HD quality digital telephone service. There’s no need for you to deal with static and that tin-can sound so many phone lines have. With FiOS the focus is on crystal-clear sound. Of course there is no shortage of calling features that customers can add to their telephone package.

Saving Money with Verizon FiOS

As mentioned the provider also offers bundling packages that make the offerings that much more appealing. By signing on for a couple of services you’ll actually save money while enjoying incredible service.

With bundling the more services and features you sign up for, the more you’ll save.

There is a “Bundle Builder” that is meant to help you create your own package that meets all your needs and wants. There are packages that require a contract as well as those that don’t. It’s all about choices and flexibility so that the customer is always satisfied. There are also packages available at all price levels so customers are bound to find one that works well for them.

The bundle packages that don’t require a contract give you month-to-month service but at the same time guarantee your price for a whole year. This gives you peace of mind knowing you won’t be in for a price increase and it’s perfect if you rent or move a lot so you aren’t tied down to a package.

When you sign the two year contract your price is guaranteed for two years. This can be a large money savings when you think of how many items are on the rise. Knowing what the price will be for two whole years is a nice bonus.

If you’re looking for more ways to save money with Verizon FiOS the company offers the Verizon Share the Network promotion. This program is all about spreading the word and getting something in return. It is a referral program that customers can use.

All you need to do is refer your friends and family to sign up for FiOS or other Verizon services and then you can receive a gift card valued at up to $50.

The breakdown is as follows:

– If you refer a new customer who orders two or more qualifying services online using the referral code you gave them, you’ll get a $50 gift card.

– If you refer a new customer who signs up for one qualifying service you’ll get a $25 gift card.

There is no limit on the amount of gift cards you can get and you can refer as many people as you want.

As an added incentive the people who sign up that you referred will also get the $25 or $50 gift card of their choice. The gift cards feature a selection of 15 different merchants that range from dining out, electronics you can get for your home, and more.

In order to refer friends you will need to register or sign in at the Share The Network site. You’ll get a customized code that you can use to refer family and friends through email, Twitter, Facebook, or printed invitations. If you happen to be a FiOS TV customer you can send the referral through your FiOS TV widget. After sending your referrals you can then follow up with reminders that include the referral code again.

Who Can Get Verizon FiOS

As mentioned the service is available in select cities. To find out if your city is available simply visit the Verizon website and enter in your address. You’ll get your answer instantly so you know if you can proceed.

For those who are looking for speed and high quality the introduction of fiber-optics for home is the answer they were looking for. Verizon FiOS is able to provide customers with speed, quality, and money saving offers.

How to Save Money on Broadband Services

Broadband Services

The internet is one of the most important tools we use during everyday of our lives.  While the internet was non-existent some 20 years ago, many people don’t know how they would go about their lives today without it.  Saving money on your internet service should be your top priority, especially when you consider the massive number of companies and businesses now offering internet service for cheaper and cheaper prices.  This article will highlight some of the easiest ways and methods you can go about saving money on your broadband purchases and services.

Go with a Bundled Package

Telecommunications companies are smart.  They know that somebody who is purchasing an internet service probably wants a television and phone service as well.  This is why the bundled package system has become so popular in recent years.  You can oftentimes save up to $20 per month when you purchase your internet service in a bundled package that typically includes digital television and digital landline telephone service as well.  Obviously you don’t want to bundle your internet with other services if you have no intention of using the other services, as this would be silly.  But if you know your family wants television and telephone service in addition to broadband internet, purchasing them in a bundled package is a great way to save money.

Compare Service Providers

Another great way to save money on all your broadband purchases is to compare service providers before you make a purchasing decision.  You may be surprised to know that different service providers, even those covering the same physical areas can oftentimes charge drastically different prices.  There are oftentimes more than five different companies competing for customers in the same area, which allows you to easily compare prices and service plans between companies to find the one that will suit your needs and budget.  There are numerous websites online dedicated to comparing the prices and service plans of internet service providers, or you can simply call each company yourself and inquire about their prices.

Get a Contract

Despite the negative connotations associated with signing on the dotted line for internet service, in reality you can save quite a bit of money when you sign a long term (18-24 month) contract.  Savings can often be more than $10 per month when you compare the price of internet with a contract and without one.  Signing a contract shouldn’t change your outlook on the service you receive or the company you’re dealing with, especially if you’ve been a long-time customer and are happy with the service.

Know your Speed Requirements

People oftentimes get suckered into purchasing expensive data plans or the latest “screaming-fast” internet connection without realizing they don’t actually need that fast of a connection.  If your primary internet use consists of updating your Facebook page and checking your email then chances are you can make do with a slower connection of <1 megabit/second.  Even with a 1 megabit/second connection you will still be able to load most webpages in under a second, download a 5 minute song in 40 seconds and stream high-definition video from the internet.

If you’re into online gaming or require the internet for extensive work then purchasing a higher-tier plane would make sense.  Remember that the prices increase dramatically with the speeds, and purchasing a top-level speed plan can cost 50% more than a lower speed plan.

Inquire about Usage

Some internet service providers put set limits and caps on the amount of data you are able to view each month.  Going over these caps can cost you dearly as astronomically high data rates kick in after you reach the limit, often with no forewarning.  Before signing on the dotted line for any type of internet contract you must ensure the data plan includes unlimited usage, versus having a set data limit.  If you’re unsure of this it’s important to ask a customer service rep before agreeing to the contract and purchasing your services.

Watch for Hidden Costs

Telecommunications companies often make quite a bit of money exploiting “hidden costs” that are barely mentioned or buried deep within your contract.  While this may sound ethical, it is legal and it’s something you need to be aware of.  Common hidden costs include activation fees, hardware costs such as cables and modems, delivery costs, installation fees, deactivation fees, contract termination fees… the list goes on and on.  Avoiding these hidden costs are easy if you carefully review your contract.  By law a company cannot charge you a fee if it’s not included in your contract, so you should always review your contract fully and complain to a higher authority such as the Better Business Bureau if your company is price jabbing you.

Look for Freebies and Promotional Offers

One of the best ways to save money on your broadband purchases is to look for freebies and promotional offers given out by the company in the attempt to attract more customers.  Some companies will give you a free X-Box or PlayStation after signing up to their contract, but look carefully.  Are they attempting to lure you in with a freebie only to charge you astronomically high rates after you’ve signed on the dotted line?

Another way to save money is to find coupon codes and discount codes made available by either third party websites or the telecommunications company themselves.  These codes can often be applied when you first start a contract to receive a variety of benefits such as a free first month of service, free installation, free modem and more.  These codes (like our ATT codes) can be found on third-party websites, and they are sometimes distributed by the company themselves during special occasions.

Saving money on your broadband bill each month doesn’t have to be difficult or time-consuming.  By using the simple tips posted above you can be well on your way towards reducing your monthly bill, receiving free items or getting a better connection.  Always remember to shop around and ask friends to find the best promotions available.

AT&T Uverse Review

AT&T U-Verse Review

The latest trend for telecommunications companies is to bundle their most popular services together in one package to make it easier for customers to get everything they want at a discounted price.  The trend started in the late 2000s and has continued to present day.  AT&T’s bundle service is called U-Verse and features digital landline phone service, digital television service and high-speed broadband internet service.  U-Verse has proven to be a very popular service because of the wide range of features and discount coupon codes available that allow customers to save money on the services they use on an everyday basis.

U-Verse Basics

U-Verse, as previously mentioned is AT&T’s bundled service that combines their digital landline phone service, digital high-definition television service and their high-speed fiber optic broadband internet service.  Because most people who purchase an internet service also want television service as well, AT&T has decided to create a bundled plan that allows consumers to purchase internet, phone and television in the same package to save money.  The rise of cell phone use has severely cut into most telecommunication company’s sales of their landline services, which is why it is typically included in a bundled service.  Even if you don’t plan on using the landline service it’s generally cheaper to have in included in a bundle such as U-Verse as you receive major discounts when it’s bundled together.

U-Verse Services

Digital landline phone, digital high definition television and high-speed broadband internet service are the three services included in the U-Verse service plan.  Below is a general outline of the details and specifications associated with the bundled plan.

  • Digital landline phone – U-Verse gives you state-of-the-art digital telephone service which goes far beyond your typical landline service.  You receive caller ID, visual voicemail and web-based call management which all can be integrated into your television service as well.  With U-Verse you can automatically see who’s calling simply by looking at your television.  You can track your call records online and see where calls were made to and where they were received from.
  • High-speed internet – The internet service provided in the U-Verse service plan is very good and is comparable to other internet services provided by other telecommunications companies.  You get speeds up to 24 megabits/second download and numerous Wi-Fi hotspots for use around the home and community.  With this service you can easily listen to music, check your email and watch streaming video from a variety of devices from anywhere in your home, or anywhere an AT&T Wi-Fi hotspot is available.
  • U-Verse TV – You receive a DVR (digital video recorder) along with your U-Verse subscription plan that allows you to record up to four television shows at once, ensuring you never miss a moment of your favorite TV shows.  The digital TV service can be had for as low as $19.99 per month when you bundle with the qualifying U-Verse high-speed internet service.

When purchasing the U-Verse subscription you have two basic options – you can choose to bundle U-Verse TV with the internet plan, or you can bundle U-Verse TV, internet and phone service to get all three in one easy to manage bundled plan.

U-Verse Prices

The low prices of this bundled service is what makes it so popular among consumers.  When you bundle U-Verse TV + internet + phone service you can get a low price of $89 per month assuming you sign a contract valid for two years.  Your price will not change during the course of your contract and your services will stay the same for the entire duration as well.  If you choose to bundle only U-Verse TV and internet you can have them both for only $59 per month when you sign a 12 month contract.  Your prices and terms will remain constant throughout the 12 month contract and won’t change until the contact expires.

U-Verse Fiber Optic Technology

AT&T makes use of their extensive fiber optic network they have laid in the United States and in other parts of the world.  Fiber optic is the best method of transferring data at high speeds which allows for screaming fast internet connections, crystal clear digital television signal and digital voice phone service.  Fiber optic television service is known in the technology community to be much faster than either satellite or cable TV, making it one of the fastest services around.

The user of fiber optic technology and a DVR allows you to record a wide variety of television programming.  You are able to record up to 4 shows at the same time using the same receiver and television set, assuring you won’t miss a single second of your favorite shows and programs.  The internet is much faster and more reliable because it uses fiber optic technology.  You receive download speeds in excess of 24 megabits/second which allows for streaming of high-definition video on any internet connected device in your home.  AT&T’s numerous Wi-Fi hotspots can also be used when you’re on the go so you always stay connected.

U-Verse Coupon Codes

One of the most interesting features related to the U-Verse service are the numerous ATT uverse coupon codes available when you signup for the U-Verse service.  Some of these codes can be obtained from the official AT&T website, but the vast majority of them are located on third-party websites who are compensated by AT&T for signing up new members to the service.  When shopping for discount codes on third party websites it’s important to ensure the codes you receive or purchase are up-to-date and valid.  Some websites attempt to defraud customers by offering to sell invalid or expired coupon codes, which won’t allow you to save money or get a discount.

Using these codes is very easy and only takes a few seconds of your time.  If you’re paying online you simply input your discount codes and if they are valid, your bill will automatically be reduced or you will receive a credit on your account that is valid and useful for the next billing cycle.

AT&T vs Verizon FIOS Broadband Offers

Telephone, digital television and high-speed internet services are used everyday by billions of people around the world.  These services are crucial to facilitate the communication and entertainment needs of people around the world.  While these services can cost quite a bit when purchased by themselves through the major telecommunications companies they can be had for a much cheaper price when they are bundled together.

AT&T bundle package is known as U-Verse while Verizon’s bundled package is known as FIOS.  They each have their own advantages and disadvantages and they each sport different prices, different services and different terms and conditions.  This article will attempt to compare these two bundled packages against four major categories: services offered, price, availability and customer service.

Services Offered

Both companies offer the three same services in their bundled packages.  U-Verse consists of digital telephone, high-definition digital television and high-speed broadband internet service.  Verizon’s FIOS package offers the same services.  One interesting thing to note is how the two companies use different strategies and methods for delivering their services to their customers.

Verizon uses a method known as FTTP or fiber to the premises.  Verizon has opted to lay fiber optic lines directly to each customer’s home instead of using existing copper lines that are already in place at the majority of homes.  This has the advantage of bringing the highest speeds possible because the connection won’t be slowed by copper lines between the home and the primary fiber optic lines.  There are numerous downsides to Verizon’s approach as well.  It costs much more money for the company to lay down dedicated fiber optic lines to each customer’s home, instead of using the existing copper lines.  This forces them to charge more for the comparable service, even though their services are slightly faster.  It also takes some time for Verizon to come to your home and lay down fiber optic lines directly into your home.  This will retard the growth of FiOS and make it slower to expand nation-wide.

AT&T uses a different approach known as FTTN or fiber to the node.  Instead of laying down new fiber optic lines to each customer’s home, AT&T makes use of existing copper lines that are already in place at virtually every residence in the country.  AT&T still makes use of fiber optic lines between their signal stations and central hubs located in each neighborhood, although from this point on the signal is carried to individual homes using the existing copper lines already in place.  This allows AT&T to roll out their U-Verse service very quickly, and it allows them to charge lower prices.  The only slight downside is the service is a bit slower than FiOS because of the transition from fiber optic to copper wiring, which is considerably slower at transmitting data.

It’s no secret that Verizon is one of the most expensive telecommunication companies around.  Instead of using outdated technology in an attempt to cut prices, Verizon uses state-of-the-art technology such as FTTP to deliver the quickest and most reliable connections anywhere.  Verizon spends quite a bit of money on researching and developing newer and more efficient technologies, and most of these costs are passed down to the consumer.  You can’t expect Verizon to compete with your local cable or satellite provider when it comes to prices as they don’t market their services on a price-point basis.

AT&T on the other hand is more sensitive to existing markets and are therefore more flexible with their prices.  Because they use cheaper technologies such as FTTN they can afford to pass these savings down the line to the consumers.  AT&T is known to provide relatively good discounts to their existing customers and longtime subscribers.  They offer discounts on their U-Verse service which can be applied towards credit on your billing account, a free DVR, free installation of U-Verse or discounts on certain services.  AT&T will also be more aware of the local prices in your area and will attempt to match these prices the best they can.

Because Verizon uses FTTP technology it will take them a much longer time to roll out their FiOS service nation-wide.  AT&T uses existing copper connections to bridge the gap between the primary fiber optic line and the customer’s home, saving both time and money.  Verizon is investing quite a bit of money into their FiOS program, so you can expect it to pop-up in more and more locations as time goes on.  Because AT&T is using FTTN technology they are able to offer U-Verse bundling packages to more existing customers without having to lay down additional lines which can cost the customer both time and money.  Expect Verizon and AT&T to move into new markets in the coming years and start to compete with companies such as Comcast, Time Warner and Cox who have previously held a near-monopoly on local telecommunication markets.

Customer Service

One of the most important aspects related to the telecommunications company you choose is their customer service ratings.  Both AT&T and Verizon have typically received very high marks when it comes to their customer service.  J.D. Power and Associates ranked both AT&T and Verizon on top of their list in 2008 for the top customer satisfaction companies.  AT&T and Verizon both benefit from the complacency that is common in existing markets that are dominated by national telecommunications companies such as Comcast and Time Warner, as well as local companies.  These companies and businesses have become complacent over the recent years when it comes to customer service, so expect their standards to raise as well.

Both FiOS from Verizon and U-Verse from AT&T offer telephone, internet and high-definition television services.  They are different in both their prices and availability, as Verizon uses FTTP technology while AT&T opts to use older and cheaper FTTN technology.  The customer service of both companies is impressive and the choice of which to choose really comes down to your budget, personal preferences and your liking of each company over the other.
